Checkerboard Horse

RKCole lives in southwest Colorado and finds inspiration in the light, color, creatures, flora and fauna of the Vallecito Valley.

While web development is Cole’s day job, she finds delight in switching up digital design and code with messy, tactile analog in the studio.

Open to a variety of materials, Cole works primarily in oil on canvas. However she has been known to incorporate house latex from the “Oops” basket at Home Depot.

Cole has shown her work in Durango, Colorado, Telluride, Colorado, Olympia, Washington, Seattle, Washington and St. Louis, Missouri.

Her most recent series is called “Adoration of the Labrador” and is inspired by her big yellow lab and a love of the colors and textures of Byzantine art.
